Scott Mitchell

Graduate Research Assistant

Scott Mitchell is an MS Candidate in Energy and Earth Resources at the Jackson School of Geosciences and a research associate in the Webber Energy Group at The University of Texas at Austin. His work focuses on the tech-to-market commercialization of CO2 sensors for seagrass meadows used in marine carbon dioxide removal. This project is a collaboration between AREPA-E and UTMSI.

Before joining the Webber Energy Group, Scott completed his undergraduate degree in Marine Fisheries Science from Texas A&M. He spent his summers working for state and federal agencies, including Texas Parks and Wildlife and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Scott is currently a TEX-E fellow, an entrepreneurial fellowship that partners with a network of Texas universities and is managed by MIT’s Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship.
