Johnathan is originally from Sherman, TX and currently holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UT Austin. During his undergraduate studies, he also earned an interdisciplinary certificate in Environment and Sustainability studies and worked with the Webber Energy Group for his senior design project. He is now a first-year MS candidate in the Sustainable Systems Engineering program, and is also continuing that research, which focuses on the utilization of solar-powered brackish water desalination for afforestation in Texas.
Outside of his studies, Johnathan is also active in voter registration efforts throughout Austin, helping college students and others navigate the electoral process. In his free time, Johnathan enjoys baking, hiking, camping, and playing music. He hopes to contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future, ensuring that all stakeholders have a say in the green transition.
