Grace Scarborough

Graduate Research Assistant

Grace is pursuing her M.S. in Civil Engineering in the Building Energy and Environments program at The University of Texas at Austin, where she previously earned her undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering. Her work with Dr. Harry Kennard focuses on modeling the embodied energy and carbon of the Texas building stock under different urban development patterns, as well as quantifying the link between building envelope efficiency and weather-related illness. She is passionate about reducing the environmental impact of buildings while improving occupant health and comfort.

Throughout her undergraduate studies, Grace completed internships in HVAC design with Henderson Engineers and DBR, as well as an internship in regenerative design and building performance with PAE Engineers. She is passionate about developing sustainable and resilient approaches to the built environment that address both environmental challenges and human needs. Outside of academics, Grace enjoys long distance running, reading, and concerts.
