Emily Arnim

Graduate Research Assistant

Emily is a Graduate Student Fellow in the Energy and Earth Resources master’s program here at the University of Texas at Austin.

Previously, Emily worked as a copywriter and digital marketing manager for numerous companies. Upon graduating from Washington & Lee University in 2016 with a B.A. in Global Politics and Spanish, Emily moved to Washington, D.C. She began her career in the democratic press office of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, where she outlined reports and legislation, wrote press releases, and prepared talking points for Senator Maria Cantwell. In 2018, Emily transitioned to a marketing role at EAB, a higher education consulting firm. She went on to lead a team of digital marketers at EAB before accepting a content marketing position at a sustainability-focused startup. Emily’s communications and management experience, as well as her liberal arts background, lends a unique perspective to her current research with the Webber Energy Group.

Working under Dr. Emily Beagle and Dr. Yael Glazer, Emily’s research focuses on hydrogen in food, energy, and water (H2 in FEW). For her master’s thesis, Emily is conducting a techno-economic and policy analysis of produced water for hydrogen production in Texas.

Originally from San Antonio, Emily is dedicated to advancing Texas' leadership in the clean energy transition while ensuring the conservation of the state's vital water resources.You can find her hiking with her dogs on the Greenbelt, taking a dip in Barton Springs, or enjoying live music around Austin.
