Natalie Sherman, from San Antonio, Texas, is a senior Environmental Engineering undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research, guided by Dr. Harry Kennard on the Built Environment team, focuses on the interactions between infrastructure and energy. In particular, she has worked on quantifying the environmental impact of residential buildings in Texas and looks to explore potential bottlenecks for implementing electrification. She is passionate about the expansion of energy access and reliability for the promotion and preservation of human welfare.
Natalie is involved in various energy and leadership initiatives on the Forty Acres, including serving as co-founder and President of Women in Energy at UT and as a Texas Trailblazer. Her technical experience encompasses two internships of engineering design with Burns&McDonnell across transmission and distribution through power generation. In her free time, you can find her baking sourdough, reading 60s science fiction, or volunteering at her local church, All Saints Presbyterian.
